With a background in Tobacco and Master Plant Dietas and apprentenships programs, Bufo Alvarius facilitation and trainings, Kambo facilitation, Breathwork, Kriya Yoga and Self Enquiry. Javier has spent the past 10 years guiding individuals and groups through transformative journeys towards deeper self-awareness, healing, and connection with life’s sacredness.Born in Valdivia, Chile. Javier carries the essence of his roots into every space he holds. Prior to your arrival at the retreat center, we will discuss your dietary preferences and requirements in detail, including your preferred meal times and the type of diet that best nourishes you.We highly recommend following a vegetarian or vegan diet during your stay to support your process with the medicine. However, if it is absolutely necessary for you to consume animal protein such as chicken or fish, these options can be provided upon request.All meals are thoughtfully tailored to your individual needs to ensure you are supported physically, emotionally, and energetically throughout your journey.You will receive a preparation package before the retreat, which includes dietary guidelines and recommendations. We strongly encourage you to follow these guidelines as strictly as possible to optimize your experience and deepen the benefits of the work.

These Amazonian-style dietas are profound journeys of connection with the Tobacco Master Plant. During the dieta, you will enter a period of isolation, taking the medicine once a day while eating a simple diet free of salt and oils. This minimal nourishment allows the plant’s teachings to work deeply within you, supporting your clarity, grounding, and purification.The process includes purging and dreamwork, where the plant continues to cleanse and teach you through visions, insights, and subtle inner shifts. While much of the process occurs in isolation – allowing patterns, beliefs, and fears to surface, be observed, and released – Javier is available throughout for questions, guidance, and general assistance when needed.Bufo Alvarius Retreat
At the Bufo retreat, there is no rigid schedule. Javier does not believe in imposing fixed times upon processes guided by the intelligence of life. Each day unfolds organically, attuned to what is needed in each moment.Here, nothing is rushed. There is a natural rhythm to everything – from ceremonies to the simple act of sharing a meal. Food is always available, inviting you to eat when you are hungry and to honor your body’s needs. The last meal of the day is served at 6 pm to allow spaciousness for rest and integration.Before each ceremony, there is a preparatory practice – whether chanting, breathwork, or movement – to align your body, mind, and spirit with the medicine. After ceremony, there is always time for integration, allowing you to process your experiences fully. Sharing circles and one-on-one guidance with Javier create space for reflections, insights, and emotional release.When working with Bufo, you will be invited to journey as deeply as you are ready to go, smoking as much medicine as you can handle within your personal limits. Javier carries the humility and wisdom to know when enough is enough, and will guide you in discerning this for yourself, always holding your safety and highest good as his priority.Everything begins the moment you commit to this experience.
